Swapping EE TV box during contract

Hey,

Has anyone had any luck swapping their EE TV box mid contract? I’ve had issues with the EE box since I first got it so relied more on my google chrome and forgot about the box for the most part.

I phoned up today to enquire about swapping to the Apple TV but after talking to a couple of different agents I was told it couldn’t be done.

I guess they can replace the current box if it’s faulty but with the problems so far and lack of Disney + I still can’t see relying on it all that much.

Thanks

I swapped from the EETV box to the Apple box mid contract without difficulty about six months ago, and from memory I'm not the only one who has posted here having done it. Unless they have changed their policy, it is worth phoning up a different day and seeing if a different agent can help. The rest of my contract was unchanged, including the remaining length.

Good to know, thank you!

I called to ask based on other threads I’d seen  but I figured I must have missed something but as you said, policy might have changed.

I’ll try and give them another call soon.

Hi,

I tried to do the same and messaged here about. I was told it could/should be possible but when talking to EE customer services they said no. So I was sent EE Pro, which is glitchy as ever, not very happy to be honest about it, as I pay a lot per month for the Full Works Package. Real shame as I had a great experience before my first Pro broke down. My contract is up in April and I will probably get my own Apple TV especially as it rumoured a new one is just around the corner from Apple and go it alone with Now TV myself with a Freesat connection. Shame as I really like the offering from EE.

Good luck

@PavoReal  I use my own Apple TV you’ve got some limited functionality with the EE TV app ( no live TV ) on it but you can still have NOW TV/Netflix etc etc plus Disney.  You just sign into the app with the correct detail.    Live TV just find an app for that channel or just use a TV with an aerial.   The pro box is only good if you want to record something.  Still trying to find something I want to record.  Lol
