Now tv . Pause and rewind

Hi.

Always realised last night that on the Now TV app on my Google TV streamer I can pause and rewind live TV.  Also works on my phone

My question is when I try it through the app on my box pro it doesn't have the function?

Also I was told today when signing up for the full works that they don't do an extra box as part of the deal anymore and you have to pay £10.  Is this right.

Another thing is Discovery HD is not part of the package anymore.    Why do EE change things so much?

Hi @johnbhoy1979

Welcome to the community.

As far as I'm aware, you should be able to pause and rewind live TV on the Now TV app through the EE TV Pro box. We've fed this back to the relevant team for them to look into.

Hi @johnbhoy1979

Functionality varies by device

https://www.nowtv.com/gb/help/article/pause-rewind

gives details.

The issues of Discovery HD not being provided on some EE Broadband  EETv packages has been raised on this community before. My impression is that that Discovery is a provided under agreements between EE and WBD rather than the EE and Now agreement - so your Now Boost addon that includes the HD linear channel upgrade for Now channels doesn't itself cover the Discovery channel..

Discovery HD was previously only provided as part of the Full Works package (there was no HD add-on to buy it).  Discovery isn't part of any TV package anymore, and is no longer sold by EE.  Customers who still had it will keep it as long as the account remains eligible, but there will be no additions.

@johnbhoy1979  addressing the Free extra box(es) question - it always I believe was an offer of free extra box(es) rather than a standard  part of the EETV packages.

I believe there have been four variants of the EETV  Extra Box offer spanning the period from 6 December 2023 to 23 October 2025, but none showing currently - so it would be charged at the normal addon price if you took your EETV package outside of the offer periods.

I am coming up to the end of my Sky contract and am considering moving to EE. That might explain when I was adding an extra box despite selecting ‘Big Sport’ was showing a £10 monthly charge - in which case EE may wish to update their website  🙈

Hi @emptydaze

Do you have the link to the page where that was showing?

There shouldn't be any mention of the offer now and it should be £10 for one extra EE TV boxes on any package, and £15 for two extra boxes.

Thanks @emptydaze. I'm going to pass that on to get the page updated.

Hi

I'm new here.  BT tells me you can no longer restart live programmes, even when they display the play/circle symbol on the guide, except BBC, where I can use the green button.  To me this is a retrograde step and a major factor in having a box.  Can you advise me please?  Cheers.
