Series Link

I moved from Sky to EE TV and am starting to think I have made a huge mistake.  I have a few programmes that I watch regularly and so I tend to record series so I don’t miss any of the series.  I have discovered today that one of these programmes has suddenly lost the series link and will only record when I click on record every day.  Anyone have a fix for this please

Hi @Moragws

Welcome to the community.

I understand how frustrating this must be.

Could you try turning the EE TV off at the mains socket for around 30 seconds please? It's worth restarting your router too.

If it still doesn't allow you to set up a series link again, I recommend speaking with our EE TV team. They'll be able to check everything from our side and run through some more troubleshooting with you.

Let us know how you get on.

Chris

Which programme are you referring to?

Hi @Moragws

It's been nearly 10 years since I had Sky but the same failings applied back then. My understanding is that it is the responsibility of the individual broadcaster to embed the data, ie ITV, BBC, Channel 4 etc.

I learnt many years ago that after I have watched a recording, I then check for the next scheduled recording. If it isn't there then I check the TV Guide and add it if necessary.

It is far from, and never has been, a totally reliable system. You can also bet that the one recording you're missing either doesn't appear on catch up to takes days to appear. I know, I've had it.

So it's not your provider, it's the TV Channel provider. I currently have Freesat and EETV, I record the same on both wherever possible due to the restrictions on EETV IP. Some scheduled recordings occasionally fail on one or the other, I suspect the channel providers pay more attention to Sky as that is likely to be their main distribution.

Will that a try - thank you

It’s one of my soaps so I do wonder if it is because of the change in the schedule but having said that the other soap that I watch was on and still is recording every episode so am at a complete loss as to why this one won’t series link.

It is one of my soaps that I like watching and it was on series link but last week it suddenly stopped recording every episode and I now have to go into guide every day to make sure it is set to record any episode(s) on that day.

I did think it might because of the changes to the schedule whilst World Cup is on but then the next programme that follows is on series link and does still record daily

I'll ask the question again.

Exactly which programme and channel?

Is it HD and are you using IP mode or aerial mode?

If it's aerial mode I can set one of my non-BT/EE recorders and see what that does.
