Right arrow button should skip 10 seconds

On my EE TV, when watching TV, the right arrow should skip 10 seconds.

We can already fast forward or skip 60 seconds using the fast forward button so it's such a waste that the right arrow button does exactly the same action.

Left arrow button should also rewind 10 seconds.

Can this suggest being forwarded to the product owner?

I've passed your comments on, however I wouldn't expect anything to change I'm afraid.  This functionality has been reviewed many times and what we have now was the agreed final implementation.

Thanks for passing it on.

(Interesting in software development to have a 'final implementation', especially for something so widely used)

By 'final' I mean the implementation we went live with, after trials.

Every change requirements planning, development, testing, trials, rollout, and then support. This change could also require documentation to be updated, which potentially means reprinting and repackaging (I can't remember if instructions come in the box anymore), as well as an update to the intro video.

Changing something that hundreds of thousands of users are already used to also comes with risk that it'll annoy more than it pleases.

For what it's worth - I agree with you. I've never been a fan of the chosen implementation, but as a developer I'm constantly reminded that my mind works differently to the average user. We have to rely on design and customer testing to find the solution that pleases the most people.
