Hi all,
I've been a Sky customer for 18 years but have cancelled it recently due to the monthly costs getting insane. We have all the channel packages, but mainly use sport / Freeview HD channels to be fair.
An EE TV "full works" package is currently coming up at half the price of the new promotion Sky can do for me, so I was wondering how people are getting on with it.
I'm fully aware of it requiring subscriptions behind the scenes and it won't be as slick as Sky.
Other streaming services I'm not fussed about as we already have excellent native YouTube, Amazon, Disney apps on the TVs.
What are people's experiences? Is it fairly easy to navigate, or do you have to keep swapping between apps to watch programmes?
What's the picture quality like?
Are all the channels HD?

Hi like you sky hiked the price up the picture qualities is not as good as skies, especially for you used to Ultra high definition TV it so is the same kind of problems as sky failed recordings especially on sky sports as I have found out to myself this afternoon when it failed to record the F1 the good points are At least you get a hard drive to record stuff on ? There’s no skipping but is that such a bad thing as you can go make a cupper

I have tried the bt tv which is now ee tv. the main box and the mini box ( cannot record on the mini box) waste of time and money I sent them back. don't bother with it. its no cheaper than sky once the cheap contract is finished
I left sky as well .

Thanks for all the opinions. I managed to get Sky to knock 33% off my current bill so staying put.
Plus EE have been atrocious with pre ordering a new handset, so I've no reason to move everything to one provider.
I've ended up cancelling my handset and tariff upgrade, sourcing the phone elsewhere, and going back to SIM only as their comms are unacceptably bad.

Hi ronnie
Good move . EE from top to bottom is a total mess and i would never go back in there current state they can make all the excuses they like these problems should not be happening. Sky offer great sim only deals i also got faster braadband 145mbps for 28 quid a month great deal.. funny ee said i had a problem on my line thats why my speeds are so up and down and the constant drop outs 4 times a day funny since with sky it hasnt dropped below 145 or dropped out once.

I've just swapped over and it's confusing the hell out of me. I'm not sure why but everytime i put it on it says I need to subcribe yet I have the full package. Then it wants me to do something via my phone but that doesn't work either

i left sky because to expensive.
Bt put me to ee. I had loads of problems at first with EE. Now it seems to be steady so far except for my phones. hopefully its all sorted now fingers crossed. Its good to down load onto your mobile. I did not like the tv package or have a extra box that you record on. So I stick with my smart tv with Netflix and amazon

Thanks for coming to the community.
Can you give me a bit more information on what is happening?
Where are you seeing that you need to subscribe?
Is it specific channels or anything you try to watch?
Michael

Hi michael, everything I try like TNTsports, now tv, movies. Discovery plus ...even movies
When I turn it on it tells me there is no Internet, I have to take the yellow plug out and put it back in before I can watch anything .
I cant add to mini box upstairs it tells me to put a wire in the internet box
Very frustrated 😠
