Is EETV a disappointment?

Having decided to save money by leaving Sky and moving to EETV, I am beginning to regret the decision less than a week in.

the boxes keep freezing, is this normal?

the WiFi is supposedly at a level I had previously with BT so can only assume that it’s not a network issue.

what am I doing wrong?

I'm in exactly the same boat. Left Sky BB and Q and am now only 4 days in to having BB broadband Full Fibre 500 and EE TV Box Pro and 2 x Mini's, I am sick and fed up with the glitching. My wife has gone to bed to watch standard Freeview. My TV Pro box is 5m away and my TV box is even plugged into an aerial which gives amazing pictures on standard TV Freeview. The glitching mainly affects HD channels that come Freeview anyway. Mini box in the back room is the same, although not quite as bad. One upstairs, furthest away from router is fine. I chose the package so I could record, but will not be keeping this as we aren't getting even the basic service from it. I am so mad that I read so many issues and EE don't seem to be doing anything to resolve the issue

You can see the signal ( strength ) quality of each channel you receive on the pro box you have to be on that channel to see the signal quality.    So if it’s not very good it will glitch. EE can not improve your aerial signal quality.   just perhaps your aerial  is facing the wrong way.   I don’t have any issues with HD channels and my aerial is in the attic.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

The set up I have is not via an aerial, it’s streaming via wifi. As I said the wifi is fine it appears to be an issue with the tv boxes.

Thanks for responding and I am sorry to hear you are having the same problem. Is your wifi as good as your previous set up? For that I mean does any of your other IT such as laptop/pc perform as they did? For me these are the same, so it’s just the TV side of things that I have the issue with.

Hi. I don't have any issues with HD channels if I plug the aerial direct into my TV so why does it perform so bad when it goes into the Pro box?

If I don't connect the aerial, then I will be limited to recording only two channels simultaneously, rather than 4 via the aerial

Well after having phoned EE on 150, I was told to do a factory reset on the box. Which I have done, erasing all the data I have inputted on first set up. And within 5 minutes of resetting the problem still exists.

Hi @IainB2025

Are you able to connect the box directly to the router using an ethernet cable to test?

Run back to sky now and its broadband is my advice . EE Wont get any better it is a shambles. I had it for a brief while the broadband dropped out 3 times a day the app never worked  it was just a complete mess and they say they are the best. Sky is on another level

Not easily. The router is in another room from the mini box.
