ITX errror message

Is the ITVX app supposed to work on BT/EE TV? For any programme I try to watch, the ads play fine (of course!) but then there's an error message just as the programme is about to start. It says to power-off the box for 30 seconds, etc, which I have done, and I've even had a replaacement box sent to me (old one was BT, new one is EE - made no difference).

I've read somewhere that the problem may be the YouView platform itself but I can't find anything concrete, and the customer services help team didn't mention anything about it. I can't be the only one having this problem...?

Hi, @Boggsey Which model of EE TV box do you have? 

Have you checked to make sure that the apps are up to date? Settings > Software Information > Update players and apps

Hi Neil. Yes, the software of the box itself and all apps are at the latest version. The box model is Sagemcom RTIW387.

I also have the same problem with ITV X and I have just set up the service up on a new box. I use my existing email and password which are different from that used with EE. Could that be a problem?

No, I'm afraid not. Reading some reviews online, it seems that the ITVX app is just rubbish (at least on set-top boxes).

I've just started having exactly the same issue on BT youview box... can stream on mobile but not on tv box - so annoying!!

ITV told me the problem is with the box itself and BT said something like 'we're working with the manufacturer'... I'm not very hopeful, tbh.

All working fine for me. Also my ITVX login details are different to those for my EE account so no issue with that
