How to set up a soundbar with optical without sound distortion

New customer. How do I set up a soundbar that has only an optical outlet to my pro box without a sound distortion. If there is a sound distortion how do I fix it please. Thank you

@Catdaddy78   Can you clarify sound distortion ?  Or do you mean picture to sound sync is out ? 

Are you connecting this up via the EE box to the sound bar or TV to the sound bar with the optical cable.

@Catdaddy78   if you connect the sound bar to the TV, and turn the internal TV speakers off then everything coming via the TV should be good. 

If it is anything like the optical lead that came with my sound bar it is well worth investing in a better one.  Easily available from Amazon for £5/

It's an echoing sound and it's connected to the ee box

As @Mustrum says the echoing is becase the settings are incorrect and you need to set up your TV to use the soundbar only.

EE standard opening hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 9pm - Saturday and Sunday, 8am to 8pm.

The soundbar works fine if connected to the tv but if connected to the ee box it echos. 

@Catdaddy78    we may be missing something here. But why would you want to connect it to the EE box and not the TV?

It works fine through my tv when watching the normal tv but doesn't work when I try to watch through the ee box that's why it's connected to the ee box and now its echoing.

Hi @Catdaddy78 

Which soundbar do you own so I can take a look at the instructions.

If it is connected to your TV it should play any sound from any device connected to your TV.  If you remove the soundbar does the EE box play sound through your TV speakers.

It's the AZATOM Studio Pulse 2 Soundbar. The ee box plays through the tv speakers as normal. I think I might have sorted it as an extra speaker through the tv. It means I can use the sound bar remote control though. The optical cable is now in the tv. The tv I have is the sharp aquos.
