From EE TV back to BT TV again!

Just got an email saying my EE TV service is being rebranded back to BT TV again. Feels not that long ago that it went the other way! At least it will match the BT button on the box and remote again. Very strange though!

Indeed.  All the information you need is here: https://www.bt.com/help/tv/ee-tv-is-changing-to-bt-tv

That's cuz you have EE>BT TV with BT BB. It does not apply to EE BB users.

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Home Broadband & Home Phone or Option 2 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband

ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up > 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB > 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB > 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU > 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU > 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC > 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC > 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC > 2022:EE 80 Meg FTTC SoGEA > 2025 EE 150 Meg FTTP

Any idea why it is happening though? Seems really odd when it went the other way not that long ago. I was expecting my broadband to be rebranded to EE at some point too.

I expect there are some management and branding consultants laughing all the way to the bank behind the scenes!

I get to keep using the fantastic BT TV portal which still tells me that I now get Eurosport!

Our CEO changed. She recognised that customers love the BT brand, and decided to keep it.

Various other services have been coming back to BT for a few months - now it's TV's turn.

This is just the first step though - TV is getting more attention than it's had in years. I'm looking forward to being able to share all the new things we'll be doing over the next year.

I would prefer a consistent TV  product to be offered over the BT Group brands. Why this is not occuring is a mystery.

I've no idea what you mean there, apart from the apple tv box being on EE only the packages are exactly the same cross brand now!

A consistent product would have made sense when it was a single product - EE TV on EE Broadband being different to EE TV on EE Broadband was confusing, and made no sense.

Now that they've becoming their own products, there's no reason for them to remain the same.

e.g. stats have shown that BT typically has older customers who prefer stability and simplicity.  EE typically has younger customers, who are more adventurous with tech.  This could form part of the future products.
