Fed up with EE TV recording problems

We have 3 recurring problems with recorded programs that are making my wife and I regret changing to EE from Sky.  It has reached a stage where my wife is reluctant to record anything because it either fails altogether or we don't get all of the program.  We would be grateful if there are solutions to these problems otherwise it will be getting cancelled as soon as we are out of contract!

1/.  Failed to record - this happens frequently and usually with programs set to record a series.

2/. Only records part of the programme - sometimes it only records half of the program, other times misses the last 5 minutes or so.  Displays a message that "This recording has ended".

3/. Fast forward freezes and returns to the beginning of the program - happens extremely frequently.

Thanks in anticipation for any help

@robh661 unfortunately that idea was suggested over 10 years ago and dismissed as too complicated. All the effort has been put into making sure the box does the right thing instead.

I had the same problem 12 months ago, continuous failures to record. EE replaced the box, which was fine for a while then occasionally failed. Now its back to where it was before, I have 19 failures in the last 9 days, on recordings of Winter Olympics and WSBK. Its a complete pile of crap, why should I pay EE for a service they obvously can't provide. Much as I hate Sky their package for TNT at £31/month is looking more attractive.

Well the replacement box is turning out to be worse than the one it replaced!

Rarely manages to record more than 15 minutes of a programme if it doesn't fail altogether 🤬

Utter rubbish and I fail to understand how PVR boxes have been available for decades but EE can't make one that works!

I have read through the above and have the same issues. We are on our third box, really fed up with missed recordings, partial recordings or nothing at all as though we haven’t even set it up, worst move ever, and no solution that I can find

Has anyone managed to sort anything out?

I replied earlier in the thread. My problem was solved, and the box works well now. However it may not apply to others' problems.  I use a powered indoor aerial and had plugged it into the USB socket on my TV. Set recording,  turn off TV...no power to aerial = no signal, therefore no recording! I now plug the aerial into a mains socket and have had no problems since. It probably won't help other people but it sorted my problem.

Can I ask what aerial you use, I think mine may not be strong enough as I have noticed some channels struggle with the one I have
