EETV UHD

When I went to store to take a contract out with eetv they said I would get uhd channels. I’ve since learned that I don’t get uhd channels. There’s literally no uhd channels under the ‘hd&uhd’ category. I was expecting sky sports uhd channels.

can you tell me why I’m not getting the uhd channels?

It’s a joke.

The multicast streams for these channels have been actively testing for more than 6 months. And yet it’s still ‘coming soon’? And it’s only ‘coming soon’ when someone implicitly asks about it, or it’s miss-sold.

The only way to get these services now is to take out a new subscription directly from Now.

Working with so many partners and providers, EE TV just isn’t agile enough.

I am sure we all can 😢

Hi dazzler you wrote 2. Sky Sports UHD is not available via EE TV yet but is coming soon will this include sky movie and roughly how long you can’t be held to this because not being funny you’ve been you’re only an employee but it’d be good to have some idea if we’re looking at by the end of the year another year

The multicast streams they’ve been trialing are only for sport, but Sky doesn’t offer linear streams for movies on their own platforms, so I wouldn’t expect anything different. I’d say expect the same experience as you’ve got now, with the option to view UHD content for movies, sport and some entertainment content.

Nobody here, including Darren is going to say anything other than ‘coming soon’. Happy to be corrected there, Darren.

Previously we’ve been told the delay was down software updates that need to be made to the Now app on EE TV boxes, along with updates to the billing and payment process. Those of us using Apple TV devices are also being held up.

The software process alone involves a chain of approvals which makes any development to the devices a complicated mess. Updates to Peacock’s new platform have likely added more complexity, but EE don’t have direct control of the software on their boxes. It took them 2 years to implement a launch request from the BBC to link multicast programming to iPlayer.

Hi!

Does TNT offer UHD?

@oliverturnbull yes - TNT Sports Ultimate

Cool. How do I find out if I should be getting that with my current package?

You should be @oliverturnbull however I can see errors on your account - I'm surprised your TV service was working at all.  Check the TNT Sports Ultimate channel in the TV guide and you should find it'll work now.

TNT Sport Ultimate is not a full time channel and generally only offers a few live events and typically a few 15 minute highlight reels. Reruns are not  normally broadcast on the TNT Sport Ultimate  linear channel but can normally  be found on the discovery+ app .

Whilst HD used to command/demand a premium over SD most Tv Providers are moving with the times and customer expectation in providing HD as standard with UHD/4K  ( and ad free) commanding a premium. The cost of maintaining  a set of SD  linear channels in addition to an HD version should not be underestimated.

Yep there's been issues with my account from the start.

I still get the message below when I try to "Manage" my package and just get told the system will sort itself out soon when I phone up.

Would be great if you could help, cheers, Oliver
