EE TV and Now TV account

Afternoon.

I have  an EE TV (Apple 4K and mini boxe) account with TNT sports package.  I also have a separate NOW TV account with Sky Sports but this is not the account that is connected with my EE TV.  Is there any simple way to get these sports channels added to the EE TV guide

I dont mind having to watch the sky channels through the Now TV app but I'd prefer to have them in the TV guide.  However the Mini boxes keep logging into the different account that must have been setup in store when I signed up- meaning every time I want to watch sky sports through the Now TV app I have to manually sign out of one Now TV account and resign into the Now TV account with the subscription.

I have phoned EE but it seemed to be difficult to explain the issue.  I also went into an EE store but their only advice was wait for the 6 months of sports to run out  and then reactivate with the account that is associated with EE TV via the app.  (side issue my app functionality is half baked - ever since I switched from BT broadband)

Hope this makes sense to someone!!

@dcump82    Can you not just change the email address on the sky sports now tv account to the same one as the EE now tv account?

If you don’t have any Now memberships through EETV, you can ask them to unlink your Now account. However, if you have Now Entertainment, say, you can’t do this. But you can easily ask EETV to take over your direct Sports account with Now, and then it will appear on your EETV devices under the user identity you have on them now.

When you have Now from EETV, all your EETV devices will adopt your EETV Now identity, and as you have found, even logging out of that on Now on an EETV device and logging in as your separate Sports account will revert to the EETV Now account as soon as your back is turned 😢

What you could do until you get this sorted though, is to log in to your Sports Now account on a non-EETV device - your TV, say - and always watch sports on that, as the account change will stick on a non-EETV Device.

Note that if you do elect to have Sports Now on EETV, that spells the end of the ‘cancel game’ discounts you may be enjoying now.

@Chris_B‘s suggestion won’t work, I think, because you would then be trying to have two separate Now accounts on the same email address, and I don’t think they could support that.

This is the position I’ve found myself in.

I called EE this evening and explained that it appears that I have two separate Now TV accounts

1) my original Now TV account which has a subscription to Sky Sports and the Ultra boost.

2) A seemingly separate Now TV account linked to my EE TV  which only shows on my EETV mini boxes. (The sign in has a username I don’t really recognise - not my email)

I phoned EE this evening. I asked just to have everything all in one EE package.  The person I spoke to seemed to understand that I had some Now TV cross over. She said that the Now TV sports package would be ported over to the full works package.
This has happened on my mini boxes instantly but on my Apple TV while the TV guide is allowing access to the full works live channels - on demand content is unavailable because it is still using my Original Now Login - which only has the sports.

I do not seem to be able to login in to the EETV Now  - this has the same email as the my original Now account.

Im left wondering if my original Now Sky sports package really will be moved into the full works package. I suspect I’ll be paying for this twice unless it’s sorted.
I also have no idea how to log into my ‘new’ Now TV account on my Apple TV box.
I don’t know if that makes any sense to anyone out there. 🫤🫤

I definitely have 2 Now accounts associated with one email address. I now have the Full works package with a working Now account and a separate Now Account with a separate Sky sports package and I’m paying for both.
I can use my full works package on my mini boxes but on my main Apple TV box I can only access my full works package via the TV guide, any on demand content reverts to my Original Now TV package which only has sports - so no access to my full works package.

An observation is that the  NOW sports membership account is mentioned as having the Ultra Boost add on. So as EE TV doesn’t currently offer that , I wonder whether this is preventing the takeover of the account /membership by EE.

@zulu17

I had Ultra Boost when BT took over my Now Account. While it melted away in the move, it was no barrier to it.

But an issue here may be the discounted six months Sports subscription, that needs to morph into a month by month full price subscription on EETV.

I’m waiting for the picture above to appear, assuming it survives moderation, to see if it makes @dcump82‘s situation any clearer, but I am thoroughly confused at the moment; Full Works? Where did Cinema come from?

A login he doesn’t recognise, but that isn’t his email address? Except that in another part of the posting, it is his email address?

It used to be, a long time ago, that I had a Now login that was a Sky Id, not an email address, but it was associated with an email address, and as far as I know having two accounts on the same email address would cause endless confusion at best (e.g. with password resets), shouldn’t happen, and if it has happened, needs unpicking.

They've managed to add the full works package to the 'second' now package and that works on the miniboxes.  I suspect that the original sky sports Now account is not part of the whole equation.

At this point in the whole EE TV shambles  over the months.  If I can just manage to log in to the second Full works NOW account on my apple main TV so I access it all on my main TV - I'd just pay the the extra 4 months of my original Sky sports NOW contract on top of  the full works account.

If anyone knows how to log in to the second of the two NOW accounts on an Apple TV box I'd be grateful. I only know the account details Email/Password that take me to my 'non Full works NOW account'

😑

@dcump82

Open the Now app on one of the mini boxes. Navigate to Account. What email address does it show - the one that takes you to your ‘non Full Works Now account’, or something different? If different, is it an email address you own?

If not, get on to EETV to fix this to be what it should be.

But if it is one you own, try logging on to Now on a non-EETV device, and when it asks for a password, say you don’t know it. Now will email you a password reset request, via which you can gain access to this account, Then make sure that’s the one you use everywhere, on EETV devices and non-EETV devices alike.

Worry about the residual direct Sports account with Now only if they take a further payment; and if they do, complain to EETV who should have moved you over, and haven’t.

I think this is the crux of it.  I have 2 Now accounts associated with the same email address - the photo is a screen shot of the Now account finder - which shows my log in email twice.
