Looking at todays official media release from Warner Bros. Europe it says
A new NOW Entertainment & HBO Max (Basic with Ads) bundle will be available from March 26. Existing NOW Entertainment Members will be automatically switched to the Entertainment & HBO Max Membership. Basic with Ads will also be integrated into the NOW platform.
Does this apply to existing and new EETV packages that include Now entertainment membership ?

Surely these sort of discussions should happen much earlier, Sky announced the deal with HBO over a year ago - https://www.skygroup.sky/article/sky-uk-ireland-and-warner-bros-discovery-announce-new-distribution-... Your teams that negotiate TV contracts should have been on it at that point to iron things out (although we still don't have the U& channels over streaming despite being on Freely now so I don't know what that team does)
It also seems the inability to allow EE customers to sign up for Now Ultra Boost will mean you can't get HBO Max in 4K if you want it despite claims earlier in the thread that it wasn't true.

@Fuseonic the claims earlier were that HBO Max was ONLY going to be available to those with Ultra Boost, which is what I said was incorrect.
4K TNT Sports will be available from HBO Max for sport subscribers, however the higher tier entertainment subscriptions will not be available for now.

The solution to get everything is simple. This is what I’ve done (and I’m saving money doing so). Waiting for EE to adopt the latest and greatest is painful.
Downgraded my EE TV subscription from Full Works to Sport (this keeps TNT and cancels out NOW). When my contract ends I will subscribe to TNT elsewhere and remove EE TV altogether.
Subscribe to NOW directly with Ultra Boost (something you still can’t get with EE). You get offers which make it cheaper than it is with EE.
Subscribe to the highest tier of HBO Max on launch.

That gives you the sports tier via EE and the lowest entertainment tier via Now. Can you update the sports tier to the top entertainment tier, or are you stuck with several different logins to access all the content?

@Richardr66 HBO Max content will all be available in the Now TV app, so with the scenario suggested by @BenJones90 you'd use the TNT Sports login for HBO Max to get sport content in 4k, and then the Now TV app (purchased separately) for the HBO entertainment content. There'd be no need for a premium login to HBO Max, although Now TV will provide one (which will need to be a different login to TNT Sports, as a single account cannot have more than one billing source).

@Fuseonic with regards to additional channels and changes to packages, @DarrenDev had suggested earlier in the year that this year would see changes so let's see what happen
I doubt that when my renewal comes up again in 2 years EE won't have made some changes and will probably be a different offering.

Ignoring NowTV, which I don't have, am I right to assume though that an EE TNT Sport subscription gives the sports tier, but can't be "upgraded" to give the entertainment tiers in HBO Max, so two log ins would be required to get both?

As of March 26th, the Now Entertainment package is renamed to "NOW Entertainment & HBO Max". This means that if you have TNT Sports with EE TV and add the "NOW Entertainment & HBO Max" package to your account, your HBO Max login will have both TNT Sports and HBO Entertainment with ads. So yes, you can add entertainment, but you won't be able to upgrade entertainment to a premium tier.
If you want a higher tier then you won't be able to upgrade the EE provided TNT Sports account directly in HBO Max. You would need to create a new account.
