EE TV Box in different room to TV

My TV is in a different room to my EE TV Box and therefore EE remote doesn't work as bluetooth too far away. Anyone with similar set up found a solution?

Hi @MPS3

What connection(s) do you use between router, TV Box, and TV? What are  the distances between them?

I take it there’s no universal control option between box and telly using the tv remote via HDMI CEC control, or a third party universal general remote.

As the EETV box still responds to IR, you need an IR blaster that works over an RF link, or a wired one you can run alongside the HDMI cable from TV to the Box.

Amazon is dripping with both sorts.

You can reset the remote so it becomes an IR one, as it is initially, and then don’t re-pair it with the Box, or it may be simpler to find an IR YouView remote you can use, and code that for the TV in the good old-fashioned way.
