EE Pro tv box - hardware acceleration

Can someone enlighten me as to what purpose is served by using the disable hardware acceleration toggle in app settings undr Player Settings.

I'm not aware of this setting on a TV Box Pro.

Are you referring to the setting in the EE TV app on an Android device? If so, then it forces the app to use a software decoder when watching video on the phone, rather than the hardware one. Some devices have bugs that prevent the hardware decoding from working properly (e.g. some older OnePlus devices can lock up when trying to start the video). Most people should never need that setting.
