DiscoveryPlus app on new EE Box keeps giving an error code

I have set up my new EE Box on transferring from BT, including logging in to my DiscoveryPlus account.  It was working OK but now since PM 18/10/24  when I try to open a program, I keep gettting an error code 1K-0028 coming up.  Worse, it refers you to DiscoveryPlus support. Searching for this I was scammed and £25 charged without my authorisatio. So beware!

@Epistle

What site scammed you, and how did they get the money without you giving them credit card details?

We need to know to protect others.

The £1 up front and then a subscription fraud…

Do a chargeback through your credit or debit card company or bank. They will repay it, as all these people do when pushed, as they are scared somebody will otherwise turn over the rock under which they are hiding.

Oh, and you give away personal information too readily….😛

Hi @Epistle,

Welcome to the EE Community

I am sorry to hear you have been having an issue with Discovery Plus on your TV box are you still getting the issue now, has the box been rebooted?

Just to clarify how exactly was it you were referred to Expert Squad, was this just when you had been googling for help with the problem?

Alex

Yes, I have been through all the rebooting steps and reactivating the account, but the problem remains. Discovery blames EE and EE blames Discovery… Now the problem is with both their tech experts. I hope they will talk to each other.

On getting the error code, the discovery support URL was on the screen. However, rather than typing the whole URL I searched for discovery support and ended up on the “expert” website. A silly mistake. Paypal have refunded the money stolen.

Hi there @PeteMarsden

Thanks for coming back to the community.

Have you tried restarting the router and logging in and out of the discovery+ app?

If you have tried this and you get the same error, please contact our technical support guides who will get this looked into for you.

Thanks 🙂

Leanne.
