Busiest Home 1.6Gb with BT TV Package

Just tried to order Busiest Home Broadband, with BT TV, but was told that the system cannot support ordering the two together - anyone else verify this? You can order Busiest Home as broadband only, or order BT TV and a lower broadband package but with no guarantee it can be upgraded in future. Anyone else had this?

I would have thought so too mate. I was holding off on ordering but contract was coming to an end.

I'm on the 900mbps package with TV now and for what it's worth the connection is otherwise great. It's just the intial ordering systems are a mess, but i'd probs say go with the 900 and wait to upgrade if you can make do with the speeds as they're still great tbf.

I called up yesterday to enquire as to the state of things and asked the CS rep to query the next gen broadband team about upgrading to 1.6gbps. He came back and was advised that they're looking for this to be an option from next month, however if not next month then January. So still up in the air it seems.

I'm in 2 minds to go for the Wi-Fi 7 add-on for £10p/m, knowing that when I upgrade my speed it should come with the new Smart Hub Pro anyways, and seeing how useless EE was at getting the WiFi 7 kit out to the existing 1.6gb customers who've put up with the old router for ages, i'm not convinced that if I take an add-on now and upgrade later that it will be the best value for me. I can easily envisage a situation where i'm charged for both the wifi 7 add-on and the speed boost, such is the state of the backend side of things right now.

However I will say once everything is up and running both EE TV and Broadband have been great so far. Loving the Apple TV 4K box, miles above anything else right now so worth holding out for the broadband side of things

The most frustrating thing on these things is the constant calling back to see if things have changed. There is no way to be proactively told that you can now order the EETV packages. I have to call back - be told by the folk that don’t know what next gen stuff is that I can order it only to be told I can’t order it. It would be great if they could just email us all when it’s available

Also I feel for the guides - most have no idea what I’m talking about when I ask to speak to next gen team or that I want to order hub pro. There is a huge training gap.

The best bet is to ask to speak with the folk in Ireland.

You'd have thought a 'register your interest' or even maybe a pre-order offer, something like take the 900mb with TV now (so they get your custom) and you can upgrade for £X for X amount of time when 1.6gb with TV is available.

Hi Chris 5626

I quite agree with your observations, the same applies to the Hybrid Connect, and digital voice! Just perhaps if the devs are reading these comments, it might just focus their minds, and enact upon it!

Just moved from BT to EE, wanted the 1.6gb but couldn’t as wanted the TV too so went with the 900mbps. The lady that did the order said she’d get an email sent to me when I could upgrade to the faster speed. Whether that happens though, remains to be seen.

I would love to believe it but everything I’ve been told is that they cannot do this. Like I said previously, I feel for the guides - they have their hands tied.

So when is this going to available? I've been on the 1.6meg service since last April and still no news. How can a streaming TV box not be compatible with an Internet connection. It doesn't make sense. Quite annoying too that we pay the most to EE for our broadband and can't have an Internet TV service

I went with Sky Stream. I was done with waiting. And when my contract is up I’ll go with Zen internet. Better equipment (IMO), great customer service and cheaper. And you would be able to get EE TV if you so preferred too 🙂

I ent having a cacky sky stream puck in my house lol. I shouldn't have to switch provider I should he able to have a streaming TV service with an Internet connection. Don't get why EE have to complicate everything

It’s not that the products are incompatible but my understanding is they’re on two different ordering systems which aren’t compatible, and they were waiting to move the TV etc to the new ordering systems. I feel your frustration. Was told when I moved from BT to EE in October (which I did because I wanted the 1.6gbps. I was told to take 900mbps for now and I could upgrade to the speed when you could order both in the next month or two, nearly 6 months ago now. The EE guides don’t have or aren’t saying any information. The EE employee Darren, said later this year, nearly 12 months ago . Be nice if we were given some light at the end of the tunnel.
