Bbc and ITV HD channels missing

My signal was poor on the bbc and itv HD channels. So I retuned them and they have completely disappeared. I pay for HD channels and believe these should be part of the package. Does anyone else have this issue?

Even though you may be paying for a HD boost, if your using a pro box in aerial mode there's nothing that EE can do about a poor Freeview signal in your area, as channel 4 or 5 are free to air channels.

You can either reset the pro box to IP mode or continue with your fluctuating signal issues.

You will loose out on some channels in IP mode though.

Retuned them how, and on what?

Unless you are running your mystery device in IP Mode, you are subject to the vagaries of Freeview.

What happens if you try to watch these channels direct on your TV?

I have had my new fibre connection and EE TV box for just over a month. Once nearly all channels (except for 20) vanished and came back when I re-tuned.

In last 5 days 5star channel has gone twice? This cannot be due to a poor signal as I previously had a BT Youview box for years and never had this problem. I cannot use the record facility as there is no guarantee that the channel will be there when I have set the box to record?

@davefowkes

Well, if you don’t try to record it, you certainly won’t get it 😛

But if it is missing when your box comes to record, it will pick it up the next chance it gets if it appears on any of the 5 group of channels.

Which improves the odds in your favour. And to rewrite a famous line from Casablanca, “We’ll always have catch-up”…
