BTP-16500 error too many boxes

I am a new customer to EE TV, moving over from Sky. As part of my order, I was to receive 2 TV boxes. One Box Pro & one mini box. I keep getting BTP-16500 errors and I have to make each box I am watching the main box to allow me to watch TV.

Surely this is not expected behaviour and there is some way I can set my primary box, then watch TV on my mini box. This is driving me mad and questioning my move away from Sky, where the multiroom experience was flawless.

It absolutely isn’t expected behaviour and this error suggests the multiroom (or Extra Box) service has not yet been set up correctly on your account.

This is why you keep being asked to make a box the main one, because you are trying to use 2, but the broadband is only set up for one.

Hopefully a mod will pick this up and can help, otherwise you will need to call to get it fixed.

Thanks for your quick reply.  That sounds quite straightforward so hopefully someone will see this and remedy it for me soon.

I have made an assumption they can, but it may be quicker to call 150 as I suspect this will need to go off to one of the back office teams for a fix, which may take a while to get actioned.

In the meantime you can continue to do the main box swap dance, it is annoying but won’t break anything according to previous posts with the same issue.

Ahhh I see. Ok I’ll give them a buzz. Thanks for your support.
