Sorry to hear about your daughter’s passsing.
If you do not have the password to unlock the phone and she did not give it to you, as @Northerner has suggested, I would advise you to speak to Apple, although you may have difficulty accessing her phone, from what I have read, so always good to allow someone to have access if something like that happens, which is what we have done in our family, that is with my sister and brother.
