Hi ,
I wondered if anyone can help me I have been very upset with the service I have received so far. My husband sadly passed away had an ee business account with several numbers on there . I want to transfer the account to a personal one or get pac codes . So far I’ve been to two ee stores can not help due to a business account. Also EE life events can not help as is a business account. I have emailed the business email with the account transfer details so I can get it transferred then switch to a personal account, have sent this 2/3 times. Several phone calls to ee business team trying to sort it. Been trying to sort since January it’s quite upsetting, as mine and the children’s numbers are on the account . I’m going round in circles not getting anywhere . Has anyone had anything similar and able to resolve the issue

Hi @Simbad81,
Welcome to the Community!
I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your husband.
We want to make this process as straightforward as possible for you, so I'm sorry this hasn't been resolved as easily as we would hope. I know you've mentioned he was the sole director, but can I just check if there is a company secretary, as the process we follow will change depending on this.

In whose name was the business account?
If it was a sole trader where your husband was "trading as", then he was the legal entity and thus responsible. If it was a limited company, then that company is a legal entity in its own right and continues to be.

It was a limited company he was the sole director. I’m at my wits end with it. They should have a bereavement process so you can get pac codes or switch to an ee personal account.

I rather suspect this might not be an EE process issue so much as as company law issue.
On the death of a company director, the limited company still exists as a legal entity and any remaining directors take over. If they were a sole director, it is normally upto the shareholders to appoint a new director(s). I would assume your husband was also a sole shareholder, which makes this a tricky situation.
It may be that EE see you as an unauthorised third party to an account held by another person/organisation and thus legally unable to make this request - I am surmising, but wold not be surprised.
https://brodies.com/insights/corporate/death-of-a-sole-shareholder-and-director-what-can-a-company-d... under "no surviving directors" makes for interesting reading in this scenario.

Hi, there is no secretary soley him . The process with the bt hubs was much simpler. The numbers mean such a lot to me and our children. Also my husbands number we wish to keep at the moment. I just wants codes or be able to switch to personal account with ee. It really has been the most difficult thing to try sort out . I’m at the point where me may all just have to get new numbers. This is causing distress to my children and myself ,

Hi,
If this is the case I wish they would just tell me . Instead of going round in circles getting no response
