Did you mean:

Warning but make up your own mind

I recently posted asking for a solution to my lack of success in upgrading the firmware on my 4G WiFi dongle.

This was amongst the replies

""You need to text on 07380949875 from your EE number and also mentioned the query and wait for the reply.""

Well I did and ended up talking with someone I thought was from EE. During the dialog the person did not ask the normal security questions but did ask my home ownership status, my marital status and my full banking details.

I disclosed no banking details and terminated the call

As I say "make up your own mind"

Good afternoon @RMole1.

Welcome back to the Community.

The number you've mentioned here definitely isn't one that can be used to reach our team, so you were definitely right to be wary of the questions you were asked.

Where is it that you were advised to call this number?

I've looked back at the thread for this post, and the only reply I can see is from my colleague @Christopher_G who directed you straight to our 'contact us' page.

If you still have this message, I'd suggest also reporting it to the spam-text facility. Forward the message to 7726 (SPAM on your phone's keypad) free-of-charge.

Hi, it was one of the responses I got from my original post

I cant find it now (but I am not very clever at that sort of thing)

Thanks anyhow

Bob

Hi again I am wrong, it came in as a private message from chris123454

It should have set the alarm off then thanks for your input though

Thanks for explaining that @RMole1

We try to pick up on spam as soon as we can, but it looks like this user managed to get a few PMs out before we could take action.

Rest assured they've now been banned, and we'd recommend to be vigilant when receiving unsolicited PMs from users that aren't part of the Community Support team or our Community Stars.

Just to be sure, am I correct in thinking you didn't share any further details when asked these questions?
