Today I received a call on purportedly 020 4538 9426 from purportedly John purportedly from EE. He asked how I was today and if I wanted a 30 percent discount. The man was speaking with a South Asian accent in what sounded like a call centre.
He asked me to tell him how much I was paying each month so that I could identify myself. I declined and as he was working for EE asked him to tell me how much I was paying. He said that he needed to know to take me through security.
I declined again and he rang off.
I subsequently called 150 and reported this incident to EE. The guy I spoke to confirmed that EE had not contacted me today and that the call was a scam.
I am publishing this to the community so that other are aware of this scam.

I just had the same call from this number 02037663573. Asking for my email address to give me a 30% discount.

This seems to be a regular occurence for many. They use different numbers each time. numbers must be generated through a program. I have had one today offering a discount of £40 of my account. Soon as mentioned just been talking with EE, he hung up, and same with Asian accent. The number that rang wife is 07402 756810.

@Delboy58 : It's probably a scam as the call came from a mabile no. & not a landline that EE usually uses.

Now this is why this whole situation with a majority of customers including myself keep getting calls from inconsistent numbers claiming to be part of EE, pestering them to accept their offers such as discounts should be held accountable because there is a high chance that they're scammers out there.
Like dude this has been going on for last few months now especially since the whole incident with that one parcel I never cared for to begin with, basically I'm constantly getting calls while I ignore em nearly everyday where they'll ask me for a discount that I'm never interested in at all but they still keep calling me.... it has gotten to the point where I yelled at one caller before and hung up because they were being malicious and I'm sick of being assertive so ended up getting heated up all of a sudden. Honestly I have no shame in that mind you.
Nobody who works at any phone top up service should be forcing customers to accept their offers like that because not only that it is unprofessional but is also rather sketchy as well, so ima consider just blocking them until they eventually go away but if it carries on man I'll just report it to EE because this is getting ridiculous.
Just stop offering those little "freebies" of yours!

I had that similar issue before when they offered me a parcel of a smartwatch for free but turned out to be the wrong brand and was forced to send it back, even though they did seem legitimate but I was also confused with how come some callers were actually part of EE while others could be a fraud despite how weak their customer service is so how is that possible?
But I don't really know they have wasted my time and ever since then I've been getting calls from random numbers for last few months where they keep asking me for discounts, checking emails, changing pins or passwords etc like CONSTANTLY! Like I'm never interested in taking offers to begin with as I don't wanna risk getting scammed so I've been ignoring them everyday...
