Hi I just got a call from a number claimiing they can half my bill for the rest of my contract. Apparently it's a discount EE is only offering 200 people and I happen to be one of them. She knew I was getting 40% discount already on my contract. Said she was going to put in an application and send me the details by post. Asked to confirm my address and when she asked for DoB I just knew this didn't seem right. Plus she was very pushy and won't answer my questions about what's the details of this promo, can I check the promo online or go into store to find out more about it. I just knew this wasn't right and ended the call. Anyone else had this

I've just had a similar call, from 0800 048 7022.
The scary part is they knew what my last bill was. To the penny.

Hi, I had the same call this morning, told them it sounded like a scam and hung up, they were from an Indian call centre.
They haven't rung back yet.

Hi there,
I just received a call from number 07460671834 moments ago. Caller sounded Indian/like an Hindi speaker and said that in line with my loyalty, my number had been selected for a 50% discount on my mobile phone contract.
They asked for my email address to confirm my identity and we're talking very fast and almost insistently. I requested they send me something in writing, to which they said I needed to first provide my email address. When I said no and demanded they send something in writing, the guy panicked and said he might lose his job if... I hung up before the end of the sentence.
Very polite and putting you at ease until you ask to see something in writing.

Hi @Another_EE_user,
Our partners may call you from time to time if you are eligible for any offers, so you can always check our list of partner's numbers.
This isn't one of the numbers we would call you on, however, so I would recommend reporting this by texting CALL to 7726.

Hi @Lotto
Thanks for coming to the community.
This definitely isn't a number that EE would call you from. Can report the call as spam by texting CALL followed by the number to 7726.
You can find more on the genuine numbers we'd use, on our Phone numbers EE partners will call from and How do we contact you? help pages.

I only joined EE 2 days ago and today I get this call on a phone number that has only ever been provided to EE, BT, and Vodafone...so someone somewhere in one of your compaies is selling these details.
Call came from 02045493295, obviously I didn't give them any details but this looks to have been going on years now...perhaps you should be telling people when they join you that if you get one of these calls its a scam as I dare say a heck of a lot of new customers are falling for it given they seem to know you've just joined EE.

Hey there @esskay446.
Welcome to the EE Community, and thanks for taking the time to share your experience here too!
This number doesn't match any of the numbers we'd call from, so it's definitely not a genuine call.
You can get this flagged with our security team by sending the number in a text to 7726.
These numbers tend to target a wide range of UK mobile numbers, regardless of network, with a hope that it will apply to a small proportion of people that answer.
You can check a breakdown of all the numbers that we will genuinely call from on these two help pages:
