New(?) method of scamming people

It appears that scammers are now sending flash SMS messages with links to their scam sites.

Yes, flash SMS is a thing, or it used to be about 30 years ago when all phones could do is call and send/receive SMS. What makes is so annoying is that it shows up in its full spammy glory even if your phone is locked.

I am working from my laptop not my phone. How do I send this to 7726?

Hi @HelenNorth

Welcome to the community.

Could you send an email to this email address with the details please: abuse@ee.co.uk?

We investigate and act quickly on any abuse reported to us. While we may not be able to respond individually, we do act upon every email received.

Thank you.

Chris

7726 is a number where you forward spam text messages that you have received.

With respect to Christopher_G, abuse@ addresses are generally addresses where you report network abuse coming from that network, so if you received, for example, junk e-mail from an EE e-mail user, that's where you would report it.

For scammy activity where someone is impersonating EE in an attempt to get your personal details and/or money, the place to report this is https://reporting.actionfraud.police.uk/

I have a similar problem . I have received a 'short code SMS' from 'my santander' with a phishing login link.

I cannot forward it to report as its a shirt code message, all I can do is block it.

This is unacceptable as our operator has a Dury to protect us andas we can't report them there's a huge failing.

@JaseNotLikeEE   Yes you can.  Your forward the message then when asked your forward the number.

EE can not stop anyone from calling/texting you.  How do EE or any other network for that matter now that that call/text is going to be a scam when placed.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.
