I had one this morning and stupidly fell for it.. Red flags popped up when a message from my bank said "Apple pay has been set up" I dont have apple pay or any apple products.

Contacted the bank, made them aware and cancelled my card, luckily ive just received a new one.

Sent the text and number to the report number above.

Grr! Scammers!

I got this scam text 1 minute after completing my upgrade through the EE online store.  If the scammers can somehow scrape my phone number, what other details are they able to access. It's very concerning.

Hi @Frankieo,

You can find out about the information we collect and how we use it in our Privacy Policy.

Hope this helps.

James

Main thing is you didn't get any monies taken and reported it. Also it
wouldn't be a bad thing to think of getting a new mobile number. People
from 3, O2 have had similar scammers so it's not just EE. Stay safe

Your right it's very concerning and the vermin who are running these scams
must be in the know. I looked at everyone of my contacts and now I only use
my mobile phone with people I absolutely trust. Same with my emails, one
for business and the other just for friends and family. Good idea to change
your number. Stay safe 👍

Hello I have got the same txt message. If I only put my email address in after clicking their link is this fine? I changed my password after, so not sure if I need to do anything else

@brexitant : It isn't a mirror site. It's the actual EE site.

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

Didn't click on link but reported it to 7726

Changing your password obviously the right thing to do and not giving your
bank details obviously good as well and your ok BUT they do have our mobile
numbers but as long as you don't pass over bank details they can't do a dam
thing. Me personally I changed my mobile number. These vermin are devious
and cunning. I'm glad you didn't get stung and as long as we report it we
can beat these scumbags. Stay safe 👍
