Hi is anyone else getting messages supposed to be from EE saying they've got thousands of rewards points that's going to be lost in 2 days if they dont click on the link to spend them?

Yes I got one today. Saying I have 12,000 unused points which will expire in 2 days. The website looks really convincing but I didn't think it was real because the rewards they are offering are worth a lot of money. So I googled it. And here I am. Glad I didn't fall for it.

What if the link has been clicked on?

@RA3471 : If you entered any personal details you may have to a) check with your bank, b) change your bank card and/or c) change your EE a/c password

Yes this happened to me and like an idiot I fell for it. Fortunately my bank spotted it before any real damage was done . First time I’ve ever fallen for a scam but it was so realistic

The scam has been going around for sometime now and unfortunately some people have got caught out however if people keep posting on here and reporting the message to 7726 then it will help others.
I understand why people get caught out the way the message is laid out saying:
"You have 12,000 unused points which will expire in 2 days"
That gives the recipient a sense of urgency as no one likes to loose anything, and that's how it's designed to make you think:
"Oh no I can't loose them I'd better be quick"
Then your taken to a convincing fake website.
It's horrible to see or hear that people are caught out and the worst is they blame themselves and they shouldn't, it's the scammers at fault and every person has those caught off guard moments where your not thinking.
So keep posting and reporting the message to 7726 guys and help the people that get the message for the first time.
