Phone came up with ‘EE guide calling’ with the number and I have since seen that after I had a text from 249 asking me to rate the interaction. Before I saw this, I rang 150 and they were really no help at all and said my account was accessed yesterday, but not today and essentially rushed me off the phone. I was going to stay given the offer that was discussed but I’m not feeling like it now! Is this number genuine? It looks very similar to one EE says is used by insight and I wonder if they just call everyone who has requested a PAC?

I can confirm that is a genuine number we use to call customers. Usually from our outbound disconnections team.
However you'll not be able to contact the team using that number, so please call 150 speak to the disconnections team if you'd like to take up the offer they gave. We'd love you to stay with us, the UK's best network 12 years in a row.
