Content Lock Removal - PAYG

Pelontrix
Investigator
Investigator

Looking to remove content lock so I can access a game.

On PAYG, though I do have a subscription pack. Can't stand contracts, but I've had this SIM for at least 5 years, so it's most likely outdated.

Also friggin hate using this site. Bloody hell, trying to get an unlimited data addon is like having wisdom teeth through, except at least I had Oragel to numb the wisdom teeth. EE, I am begging you to hire some autistic rando that likes to design functional sites, because then at least you'd get a working product. (Not intended to insult any randos on this forum that happen to be autistic, I just find that autistic people tend to design decent websites.)

Many thanks.

@Pelontrix : On PAYG you can't control Content Lock from your MyEE. Instead you need to call EE with a credit card handy & pay a refundable token amount to prove you are over 18. Alternatively you can visit an EE store with some photo ID.

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone

ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up > 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB > 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB > 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU > 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU > 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC > 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC > 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC > 2022:EE 80 Meg FTTC SoGEA > 2025 EE 150 Meg FTTP

Quite frankly, that is phenomenally stupid.

I should not be expected to call EE when they have the functions on the site (or  rather, app that works sometimes and takes up space on my phone) to let me remove the content lock but refuse to let me simply because I'm not on some shoddy contract that's explicitly designed to get the most money possible out of me.

I would also prefer not to trust companies with my credit card information. Unfortunately a lot of things are now done by credit card, and I am a paranoid little man due to the Internet of Things.

I possess no photo ID whatsoever. This is a good decision that totally won't bite me in the backside whatsoever. (...I have been asked for ID to buy energy drinks.)

Anyways, it's not particularly your fault, I simply desire for things to be simpler and involve minimal human to human contact because I don't like phone calls in the slightest and would very much prefer email, because then I have a paper trail and it's so much easier to script a nice-sounding response with infinitely less swearwords via email.

...I hope you get a laugh out of my inane ramblings, at the very least.

(Maybe there's some hacker stuff that might let me bypass it but at that point I might as well suck up my monumental discontentment with society and social disadvantages of this current life cycle and just phone the underpaid interns that are on the call centers.)

Hi @Litulia14

Please go to How To I Turn On/Off Parental controls to change your Content Lock / Parental Controls on Pay monthly (contract) lines.

For Pay as you go (Pre pay) you need to call EE on 150 with a credit card handy to verify your age. Alternatively you can visit any EE store with some photo ID
