Blocked Website

ldws
Explorer

Hello - we launched a site on 4th December: https://4love.uk/

We noticed it had been blocked on EE - incorrectly classified, so requested an unblock via blocked.org.uk
We followed this up with 2 separate communications via email to EE to request the re classification of the site. In addition to this the BBFC have also requested on two occasions that the block is lifted.

It is now 7th February and EE is still blocking the website.

Regards

Liam

Hi @ldws

Welcome to the community.

I've sent details of the website through to our content lock team to try and get this reviewed for you.

Chris

Hi @Christopher_G has there been any update. Looks like EE is still blocking the site.

Thanks

Liam

It appears the OP has made the same post to a number of forums, however it is more likley that the issue is not EE - or other ISP's blocking the site, and the way the site has been hosted.

This from Townman on the Plusnet site:

It is apparent that the real issue is the assessment of your site by the big safeguarding providers ... not that (specifically) PlusNet is blocking it.

The domain name is suggestive of something which the site appears not to be - that is probably a key contributor to the issue.  You are going to have to put effort in having the site removed from block lists...

In looking for some silver bullet for you, I came across this analysis platform - VirusTotal - Domain - 4love.uk - look at the site content tag!!  I think that points to your issue.

Hi Chris,

We are having a similar problem with our domain www.premiersystems.com

We appear to have been incorrectly catagorised and none of our current or prospective customers are able to access our webisite if they use EE.

We have been contact EE all morning as this is a majer incident for us however no one at EE seems able to help us.

Good afternoon @Jaagardner.

Thanks for taking the time to flag this; is it EE mobile customers that seem to be affected here, EE Broadband, or both?

Also is it all EE users, or does it seem to be intermittent?

Peter

Hi Peter,

It is anyone using an EE business broadband and mobile customers.

For the customers who have contacted us it is not intermittent.

On blocked.org:,
https://www.blocked.org.uk/site/http://Premiersystems.com

You can see that we are blocked by BT

Best wishes,

James

Thanks @Jaagardner.

I've given this a test on my BT Broadband and EE Mobile and both seem fine, but from what you've said it sounds like a content-based block, so I'll get this flagged for you now.

If I get any updates or need any further details I'll let you know 😊

Thanks for your patience with this one, @Jaagardner.

I've had confirmation back from the categorisation team, and they've advised that this should only be blocked by the strictest level of content lock; it should be fine under the default moderate setting and when content lock is off altogether.

Have you had any further reports or had a chance to try testing this recently?

Peter
