unable to link my phone number to my EE account

I bought a SIM contract and I'm unable to link the number/devise to my EE account. I've never had an EE account before.

Thanks for coming here. 

Is the SIM a pay monthly contract or a pay as you go SIM? 

Have you used the SIM card to make calls and send texts?

Contract and yes have made calls and sent texts
