e sim

Can anyone help?
last year I purchased an e sim from air alo for my trip to the US. It was brilliant and I had no issues at all with it. Upon returning to the UK, my phone wouldnt connect to EE and when I contacted them, they had to send me a physical sim which I now use. I am going to Canada and the US again soon and am worried the same thing will happen. Can anyone offer any advice? I spoke with Air alo and they said it’s an issue with EE and not with them. Thanks

If you had an EE eSIM the last time you went away, that may have been the issue, it is possible the Airalo eSIM displaced the EE eSIM from your device. Some devices may only be capable of storing a limited number of eSIM profiles at a time.

Either way, depending on your device, there may be an option to turn off your EE SIM in settings, or you can simply remove it from the device and pop it back in when you get back.

Hello @Kjt6 ,

Welcome to the community,

What did you actually do when returning to the UK to get connected to EE. Did you reboot your phone, try a manual search or even turn airplane mode on and then off?

I have never used Airalo, but have been abroad and never had a problem connecting to any network.

To contact EE customer service dial 150 from your mobile phone or ring customer service for free using web based app or another phone: +44 800 079 8586 or +44 800 956 6000.

I can’t actually remember to be honest! Is there something I should do as keen to make sure it doesn’t happen again. They are much better value than the EE roaming packages so keen to use it again.
