can i port the number but keep my existing contract?

i have an EE contract that has expired and i want to port the number to vodafone as i use that number for work and they offered a device i wanted the EE didnt. 

but....... i like the EE contract as it has roaming included and id like to make it my personal  phone contract. 

is this possible?  can i port the number out and keep the contract alive?

@9811194  No you can not port the number and keep the contract.  The contract is lined to the phone number, so if you port a number out it’ll closed the account and cease the contract.
