Why does manual port take so long?

Moving from BT to EE should have ported last Friday - didn’t happen, Saturday spoke to 150 who tried to contact the team but couldn’t get through so emailed on my behalf but believed I would port after the weekend- hasn’t happened yet. Spoke to 150 this morning after checking told me port was stuck and have to be completed manually which should be done by Friday. Anybody know why this process takes so long as all 150 could tell me is that’s what they had been told. Cheers

@Steve18o  first they need to find why it happened so it doesn’t happen again even if they do this manually.     It’s usually 24h but if issues happen it can take longer.   Numbers are not ported over the weekend and are not started late Friday ( 11ish onwards)  a number port stated Monday will and should be completed by Tuesday if there are no issues.        When did you receive the EE sim ?  If this was Friday then the above would be the reason why it wasn’t done Friday,  and would have been starting Monday not accounting for any issues.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

Received the sim last Thursday afternoon so didn’t expect anything on Thursday. Saturday morning told by 150 should happen Monday/Tuesday. Tuesday told should have ported previous Friday but the auto-port failed and a manual port would be completed by Friday, tomorrow, at latest. Still waiting to hear it has actually started. Understand there can be issues but an update along the way would be helpful.
