SIM not provisioned

Hi I've just changed my son's number and received his new SIM card it's showing SIM card not provisioned, I've rung EE and they said they have activated it and will take 24 hours until he can use it but still saying not provisioned we've had so many issues with this can anyone advise how to  get phone up and running please

Thank you for advice I've been sent out another new SIM and my sons number is now active and working thank you everyone

Welcome to the community. 

Did you request a number change?

If yes, does the old SIM still work?

What happens if you try to call the new number?

Try turning the Phone Off and On a few times, or try that Sim temporary in another Phone that works with an known good EE Sim, and see if it becomes live.

The 24 Hours thing, is a safety net, should be Up to 24 Hours, but rarely takes that long.

If no joy get back to CS.
