Hi @Roisin11

Welcome to the EE Community,

The IPhone 6 and the IPhone XR both require a nano sim I would try the sim in the XR sim tray again.

Thanks,

David

If I do David it will damage the sim.  Felt just a little annoyed at this, but will contact the shop I purchased the phone first of all from in the morning too before i contact EE.  Ive no choice but to  resign myself until then.  I appreciate the response though. Thank you.

@Roisin11 if you go into any EE store with photographic ID they will issue you a free of charge replacement sim if there is a issue with your current sim.

You sure your existing SIM isn't a Combi-SIM with all 3 sizes as push-outs?

@Roisin11 for sure don't force it, but as @Profile closed  has mentioned both phones take the same nano sim, but they do need to go in the right way, round and that little cut out can be tricky to spot.

It could be David there is a knack in the fitting of it, and you cd well be correct, but because it appears odd in shape to me I will visit the shop.  The guy was v helpful when I purchased it and did reassure me to contact him if I have any issues.  I just hoped to get it up and running whilst at home here.  But I will get it sorted later this morning and will post to let you know the outcome.  (For the benefit of anyone else who may find themselves in the same predicament and may be helpful to know)

Thankyou for your feedback Mustrum….it looks a bit of an odd squeeze from my perspective and concerned I cd damage the sim…but I am searching for a little photo/video footage meantime that may illustrate it for me…and in failing that I will pop back to the guy at the shop.  Your responses are v reassuring in that there may be a little knack in the fitting of it…and may not need another sim…time will tell….will post outcome.

Hi David, Your response made me dig a little further….I found this YouTube video footage, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PqHyacvzZ5s.  In here, it does illustrate clearly that the sim tray in the iPhone XR, is slightly different.  And because it is black I didn’t see the shape of the gasket (this was last night under night light.).  So under better bright light this morning I could see the outline, and it was a matter of inserting the sim card by flipping it around, and the angle was on the opposite corner of the tray in the iPhone XR and seen better in the morning light! Relieved and an achievement to find this!  So thank you for sharing and encouraging me to probe a little further!

I got it sorted!  I responded my solution to David…and will add the link here for you that helped me ‘see’ exactly what was needed.  Flipping the card around, and the angle corner was on the bottom right as opposed to the top left on the iPhone 6!  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PqHyacvzZ5s
