Landline/ router query

I've recently signed up for EE broadband only. Do I need to continue paying Talk talk for the landline so my router will work?

My ee app has been unavailable for weeks saying it is carrying out maintenance. I can’t find out how much data or see my bills etc. was frustrating as I couldn’t resolve this before my recent holiday so could hardly use my phone.

I have had a text message from 1111 saying it is EE offering me free EU data roaming for being a loyal cystomer? It asks me to reply 'YES' to accept the offer by 26th March. Is this legitimate or some sort of scam?thanks,
