Hi,
I have recently moved back to EE and ported my number, which didn't go smoothly but is finally sorted. I can make and receive calls and SMS on my ported number.
The problem is RCS messaging. When I send one they appear to come from a different number, presumably the one that EE had on the SIM card.
I've checked the number in RCS settings and it's using the number provided to me. If I turn RCS off and back on it attempts to connect with the ported (correct) number but after a second it switches to the incorrect number and connects.
How can I fix this? I have a Galaxy S22.
Cheers
Andrew

Thanks for joining us on Community @armstra101
When you turn it back on does it give you the option to verify your number?

Hi,
Yes, it says "Setting up" in red, I click the "verify you number" button to verify the correct number, then it displays the incorrect number in with "Connected" in green.

One potential clue is (having been reading about RCS) is that Google still hasn't verified my new device according to my Google account. I'm still getting "Auto-verification is pending for this device. This may take a while."

It may be worth turning off Auto-verification in your Google settings, and starting the process again. Just be sure to switch your device off and back on between turning the service off and back on.

Thanks Ali,
Have tried that and the same result.
I've turned off RCS for now as SMS works and I don't use it for much as it is, I'll revisit in a week and if no difference I'll contact Google.
Regardless of the outcome I'll post it here to help anyone else in the same boat

Thanks very much for coming back to me with the extra details @armstra101
That would be great if you could let us know what happens when you do try again after 1 week 🙂

Port was complete yesterday as per message from EE. RCS still is logged in as the number EE issued. Have been through many loops of uninstalling app and turning on and off again.
That is the number EE issued.
Disappointed as I've signed up for 24 months and been provided with a service that isn't good enough.

- "You have dialled an incorrect number" calling Tesco in Mobile Services
- A different number shows up when texting someone in Mobile Services
- Phone calls not working in SIM cards & Porting
- MVNO NOWMOBILE connectivity issues in SIM cards & Porting
- Moving from 02 to EE and Porting Number in SIM cards & Porting
