So I recently joined ee and ordered a sim online asking for my old number to be kept and put 10 pound subscription on, I just wondered how long after my number has been ported will my pre paid top up be put on ?

How long ago was this?

You should be able to use your temporary number until your number port completes.

My new number transferred over night it's my ten pound subscription I'm still waiting to get it and it's been 24hours and everytime I text balance it's says I have 0
