I still can't see whether my number from my previous provider has been transferred to EE. The new SIM from EE still results as the new number from and my previous number still works under the previous provider

When did you submit your PAC to EE? The port-in should normally occur the following working day after submission, providing that was before approx 4pm.

It's not exactly submission of the PAC that does it, cuz there may not be an EE SIM around to receive the port, but It can take up to 1 working day from when you 1st activate your EE SIM.
