Original number on SIM after porting my old original number

Hi there just come over from BT so I ported my old number, when it was completed porting I still have the original number on the SIM card. I have tried everything like turn off phone and turning back on, taking SIM out waiting for a few minutes then putting it back in , resetting my network settings on my phone plus putting the SIM in another phone but SIM is still giving me the original number that came with the SIM on both phones I have got so is there any other way to get my old number listed on my phone plus on the SIM . Oh by the way I am using a Nokia g42 android phone thanks

@Dicky84 : Are you receiving & sending calls & texts going to / coming from your ported no.? If so, everything is OK. The no. stored as "About Phone" doesn't matter.

What do you mean by "still have the original number on the SIM"?

Can you make & receive calls on your ported-in number? Send & receive texts on your ported-in number?

Are you referring to the "my number" section of the phone?

I do send and receive text and calls on my original number but like I said the number that came with the SIM is still showing on 2 different phones and I can see that on about phone and in network and internet

As I said it doesn't matter as long as you are sending & receiving on the correct ported no. It all works as intended. Just ignore the no. reported in the phone's settings.

Thanks the times I have transferred my number to a new network my number has always followed me and on new Sims but this time I was getting confused why my old number is not on the SIM never had this before but thanks for putting my mind to rest
