My number got ported over today, had confirmation it has been completed. However, I am not receiving any messages and people cannot send me messages.
I rely on this number for my children and they have SEN needs so my phone is essential to be up and running with no issues. Why can I not receive any messages? It is a pay and go sim

If you haven't already I'd definitely check the steps @Schockwave has shared here.
Also one thing to be aware of is that it's common to experience split service between your old and new network on the date of a number port.
We normally recommend that it can take up until midnight for everything to fully complete.

Have you checked that your phone actually shows your number?
Have you tried texting to your own number to see if that works?
Have you restarted your phone since the porting was completed?
