New Sim, same provider

Hello,

I have got a new contact out with EE in my own name. I wanted to move my old number (from a contact with EE that is still currently open however I will be cancelling it soon) onto my new phone. Is there anyway I can do this or will I have to just use a new number that came with the sim? Can I put the new sim in the new phone and transfer the number over? Can I put the old sim in the new phone and still have the same benefits of my new contract?

Getting a new phone while retaining your existing number is classed as an upgrade, and had you purchased your new phone as an upgrade, you would have retained your number as a matter of course.

EE will not transfer numbers between accounts, as they offer this for upgrades. You have three options.

1: Port your existing number to another network using a PAC, and then port back in using another PAC.

2: Move your existing number to EE PAYG and then switch back to your new pay-monthly account.

3: If you purchased your new phone via an online or telesales route, use your statutory 14days "change of mind" right of return to cancel it, and then purchase your new phone as an upgrade.
