New SIM

I have just upgraded to an iPhone 14 from an iPhone 11. 

In the delivery is a new SIM card. 

Will my old SIM card not work or does the new SIM work better with 5G?

I've had my old SIM for a number of years, at least 4 years I'd suggest.
