Moving to EE from Vodafone

Hi

I currently have 3 phones with Vodafone.  We moved Broadband to EE back in October but didn't move the phones as the contract lock in doesn't expire until end Jan 2025

We will look to move them across for about the 25th - we won't need new phones so will be SIM only and I will get PAC codes from Vodafone

Given we already have an account with EE, how much notice do we need with EE to get the new phones set up and the numbers transferred?  I=From what I can see online it sounds like it can be pretty much done next day but I recall from being in the shop back in October that the EE staff said they might need a month?

If you’re looking to get them moved as close to the 25th as possible (I’d personally do it a couple of days earlier to prevent another bill being generated - assume 25th is your billing date).

  1. Depending on your phone type, you can order eSIM or physical (obviously an eSIM is provisioned a lot quicker than a physical sim.
  2. You can enter your PAC code either as part of the order journey or do it once your sim is live
  3. If you enter it as part of the order journey, you still need to activate the sim for the port to then trigger. Remember it takes one working day if triggered before 16:00

You can actually get your PAC codes ready to go right now by texting PAC from your Vodafone device. Doesn’t take 30 days at all. They’re probably thinking you want to give notice to Vodafone. If you’re taking the numbers with you to EE using the PAC code process then using the PAC bypasses any 30 days notice requirement to Vodafone to cancel.

Thanks - that is helpful

I was going to text the 65075 number to get the PAC codes and as you say they have 30 days life and the lock in expires on 25th

Was thinking i might go to EE about the 20th or thereabouts and get the eSims sorted out then - seems that should give sufficient time to get it transferred over quickly enough
