Hi, I joined EE yesterday on a sim only contract and opted for an eSIM. I have received a temporary number whilst I wait for mine to be transferred. I have attempted to link my device to get the sim installed but if I put in my current number it comes up with an error, and if I put in the new number I can’t get the activation code because it’s text to that number! Can anyone help please? I could really do with not having to ring EE again as I am trying to look after my 10 month old baby and I have no signal at home (hence switching to EE!)
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

Thanks for explaining @KTC3007.
If it is not letting you link the SIM, it would need our tech guides to look at it further.
I appreciate it is not easy for you to be able to call, but that would be the best option to get help with this. You can find all of the numbers to use, including one to call from a landline if you have access to one on our Contact Us page.
Alternatively, if you are near an EE store, you can pop in and they can look to get the eSIM activated for you, and put you in touch with our tech guides to link the account.

Hi @KTC3007
Thanks for reaching out about this on our community.
Depending on how you joined us and what phone you are using, the steps will be different.
If you have a look here Downloading and using an EE eSIM it should give you the steps to take, depending on your device type and if you have a QR or not.
Let me know how you get on.

Thanks for the extra info @KTC3007
Do you have the EE app set up and are able to log in?

Hi Lesley,
yes, as mentioned in my original post, I have tried to link my phone via the app using my current number but that produces an error but if I use the temporary number provided, it sends a code to that number which I can’t receive because it’s not my number!
