have just moved 2 mobile phones to EE. Today is the first day the old numbers have been ported over.

I have used my phone several times this morning and it works fine.

If I phone my wife I get the message Welcome to Voicemail the person you are calling is not available.  Her phone is switched on.

If I try and use her phone it says not registered on the network. If I try and register on the network it says unable to register oin the network.

Help would be greatly appreciated.

The number you gave me is the same as 150 round and round in circles trying to find a real person.

Your Android 9 phone is not too old to access the internet or use data services. Android 9, also known as Pie, was released in 2018, and most modern apps and services still support it. Here are some considerations:

  1. Carrier Support: Ensure your carrier still supports your phone model. Some carriers may phase out support for older devices, but this is usually more relevant for much older models.

  2. Network Compatibility: Make sure your phone is compatible with the network bands used by your carrier. This is more about the phone's hardware than its operating system.

  3. Software Updates: While your phone may not receive the latest Android updates, it should still be functional for internet and data services as long as it receives security updates.

  4. App Support: Most apps still support Android 9, but this may change in the future as newer versions are released.

If you are facing issues with connectivity, it might be due to specific network configurations, APN settings, or potential hardware issues with the phone. It is not likely due to the age of the operating system itself.

Hi @woldsweather

Is your handset unlocked to all networks?

Which network did you previously use your phone with?

The 0800 number I have provided above is a line for non EE customers to call, this should connect you with an agent.

Katie

I imagine so how would I check?  I always buy a mobile phone outright not as a tied deal.

IT eventually did connect me with an agen who told mebecause my phone is Android 9 or older it won't work with internet. I find that hard to believe.

Would it be simpler to go into a shop[? I say simpler because I( could talk to someone but it would be a 50 mile round trip.

Hi @woldsweather

I have sent you a private message for more details.

Speak soon,

Katie

@woldsweather , is your phone capable of 4G? If it is only 3G capable, then that could be the reason as 3G has been switched  off and you will only get 2G.

To contact EE customer service dial 150 from your mobile phone or ring customer service for free using Skype or another phone: +44 800 079 8586 or +44 800 956 6000.

Yes it has worked iun the past on 4G

Didn't get a call back yesterday, so hopefully today.
