Just got 16 pro max, put my SIM card in not working

I’ve just got a new phone and put my sim in, gone is open. But  my SIM card is not working? I have restarted phone I have no clue what else to try and do it make it work?

Did you get a new SIM card with the new phone or are you trying to put an existing SIM into the phone?
