@VertigoB21  Is that on contract or payg ?   It can take up to 24 hours to activate.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

Chris, I have a similar question as Vertigo above.  In my case I have received a replacement SIM.  Can I leave the old SIM in the phone while the new one is activated or does the new one have to be in the phone for activation to succeed?

Hi @Clangs,

Welcome to the EE Community.

What was the reason for the replacement SIM? If it's a lost, stolen or damaged replacement, it will be pre-activated.

If it is for a size change, you'll need to activate it at Activate your SIM. You'll need to leave the old SIM in your phone to receive a security PIN.

James

Hello James,

Thanks for replying so promptly, certainly quicker than waiting on the line for customer services.

To answer your first question, the replacement SIM is a last ditch resort to try to solve long standing issues with calls dropping out.  For a number of years !! I have endured this problem on both phone network and Wifi calling.  Nobody at BT/EE has been able to solve the issue so they/we are trying a new SIM card.

I have read the EE website on activating a SIM. How do I activate and set up my new SIM? | Help | EE

It says, insert SIM and activate it - but how?  There is a circular logic.

Furthermore, thank you for the link to obtain a PIN no.  However, I've already received one with the SIM card but no instructions on how to use it.  Where are the simple steps to input the PIN?

I'm sure this whole process is simple but finding how to do it is not.

Sincerely, Colin.

Hi @Clangs,

Just enter your details at Activate your SIM. This will prompt a security PIN to be sent to your old SIM card to activate the new one.

Hope this helps.

I'm still not clear on the answer to this - I have just upgraded and received a new sim. I have requested a pin (which I have received) but what do I do with it?

What is it that you're trying to do, @vickyemma?

Does your old SIM fit in your new upgrade?

Jon

I was trying to activate my new sim, which I have because my old sim doesn't fit in my new phone.

I've mamaged it now, the problem was the first time I requested a pin I didn't receive it straight away and then when I did the page didn't change to give me the place to input the pin - and nowhere does it tell you what is supposed to happen once you've requested a pin!  But it worked the second time.

I see, thanks for clarifying, @vickyemma.

I'm glad it's now sorted.
