Galaxy Watch 5 Pro eSIM to Apple Watch?

So, I currently have a Galaxy Watch 5 Pro with data on it.  I'm not happy with how it works - silly me assuming it'd work like my old Apple Watch where I could receive phone calls, notifications etc as if I was connected via WiFi, but really on the Galaxy Watch it's still pretty useless unless it's connected via Bluetooth to the phone.

So, I'm wondering can I move the eSIM off the Galaxy Watch on to an Apple Watch?  If I can, how?

Good morning @HellDiverUK.

Welcome to the EE Community 😊

What is it you're noticing happening when using the cellular connection on the Galaxy Watch? Do certain services still work, or is this not working with anything full stop?

Also what model of phone are you using?

Peter

The connection is working, as stuff like weather etc updates, but only limited notifications work, and I've never had the watch able to ring and take a call when it's not connected via Bluetooth.  On the Apple Watch I'm able to take calls from anywhere be it on 4G or WiFi.   I'm on a S24U for Android, 15 Pro on the Apple side.

I think WearOS on Android is just a bit pants, and doesn't do much for me compared to the Apple Watch.  With the Apple Watch I was literally able to go to work 60 miles from home without my phone and be totally fine with taking and making calls, getting emails etc.  On the Galaxy Watch the wheels fall off when disconnected from BT.  Doesn't even do much when on WiFi in the same house if it's not on BT.

Thanks for confirming all of that @HellDiverUK

All of the features you've mentioned here should work via the Samsung cellular watches too, so this is definitely something that could be worth investigating further.

If you contact our Technical Support team they can run some checks to make sure you're getting the most from this.

When it comes to switching the device your eSIM is used for, is it a SIM Only watch plan active on your account now, or are you paying for the plan as part of a contract including the Galaxy Watch?
